Singles (“Singles,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the singlebottles.com mobile application and related services (collectively, the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our App. By creating an account or using Singles, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Singles is intended for users who are 21 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

• Account registration: email address, username, password (hashed), and date of birth (to verify you are 21+).
• Profile information: optional preferences such as whiskey styles, flavor profiles, and preferred price ranges.
• Subscription information: if you subscribe to our ad-free tier, billing is processed by a third-party payment provider (e.g., Apple App Store or Google Play). We do not store full credit card numbers.
• Communications: messages you send to our support team.

1.2 Information We Collect Automatically

• Usage data: bottles swiped (liked/passed), saves, tap events, screens visited, and session duration.
• Device information: device type, operating system version, app version, and a unique device identifier.
• Approximate location: if you grant permission, we use your location to surface store picks near you. Precise GPS coordinates are not stored; only an approximate metropolitan area is retained.
• Crash and diagnostic logs: anonymized error reports to help us improve stability.

1.3 Information from Third Parties

• Tastebud API: we receive whiskey product data, store pick information, and barrel details from Tastebud to power the discovery experience. See Section 4 for details on data sharing with Tastebud.
• App store platforms: Apple and Google may share limited account information (e.g., whether you have an active subscription) with us as permitted by their developer agreements.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and maintain your Singles account.
• Power the whiskey discovery experience — matching you with single barrel store picks based on your preferences and location.
• Process and manage your subscription.
• Send transactional communications (e.g., account confirmations, password resets, policy updates).
• Improve, personalize, and develop the App and its features.
• Monitor for and respond to technical issues, abuse, and security incidents.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your personal information to serve you behavioral advertising.

3. Age Restriction

Singles is an alcohol-related application and is strictly intended for users aged 21 and older. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 21 years of age. We may ask you to confirm your date of birth during registration. If we learn that a user is under 21, we will promptly close that account and delete the associated personal information. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us at privacy@singlebottles.com.

4. Data Sharing with Tastebud

Singles uses the Tastebud API to power our whiskey data layer. As part of this integration:

What we share with Tastebud

• Your Singles user ID (an anonymized, internal identifier) — so Tastebud can associate API requests with an authenticated session.
• We do NOT share your name, email address, or any other directly identifiable personal information with Tastebud under normal operation.

What we receive from Tastebud

• Whiskey product metadata, barrel details, tasting notes, and store pick availability.
• We may also receive anonymized, aggregated usage signals from Tastebud to help improve recommendation quality.

Safety and abuse investigations

In the event of suspected malicious behavior, fraud, or a violation of our Terms of Use, we may coordinate with Tastebud to investigate the incident. Such coordination may involve sharing your Singles user ID and a description of the suspected activity. Your name and email would only be shared with Tastebud in this context if required by applicable law or a valid legal process. Any such sharing is limited to what is strictly necessary for the investigation.

Tastebud's own privacy policy governs how Tastebud handles any data it receives. We encourage you to review Tastebud's privacy policy independently.

5. Other Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party service providers who process data on our behalf. These providers are contractually required to protect your data and use it only to provide services to us. They include:

• Supabase:our backend database and authentication provider. User account data is stored securely within Supabase's infrastructure.
• Cloud infrastructure providers: for hosting and content delivery.
• Crash reporting and analytics: anonymized diagnostic data only.
• Payment processors: Apple App Store and Google Play handle subscription billing. We do not receive or store your full payment card information.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the App. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, or fraud prevention purposes. Aggregated and anonymized data (which cannot identify you) may be retained indefinitely for analytics.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

• Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate information.
• Deletion:request that we delete your personal information (“right to be forgotten”).
• Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Opt-out of data sale: we do not sell personal data, so this right is automatically satisfied.
• Opt-out of profiling: you can contact us to limit automated profiling used for personalization.

Minnesota residents have additional rights under the Minnesota Consumer Data Privacy Act (MCDPA), including the right to obtain a list of third parties to whom we have disclosed your personal information.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@singlebottles.com. We will respond within 30 days (or the timeframe required by applicable law). We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted connections (TLS), hashed passwords, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at privacy@singlebottles.com.

9. No Collection from Minors

Singles is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, individuals under the age of 21. If you are under 21, please do not use this App or provide us with any personal information. If we discover we have received information from a user under 21, we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document and, for material changes, notify you via in-app notification or email. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Singles mobile application and related services (collectively, the “App”) operated by Singles (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 21 years of age to use Singles. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are 21 or older and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. We reserve the right to verify your age and to suspend or terminate accounts we believe belong to users under 21.

2. Account Registration

To use most features of the App, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
• Maintain the security of your password and accept responsibility for all activity under your account.
• Notify us immediately at privacy@singlebottles.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
• Not create accounts for others without their permission or create multiple accounts for abusive purposes.

We reserve the right to refuse registration or cancel accounts at our discretion.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the App to:

• Violate any applicable federal, state, or local laws or regulations.
• Post or transmit content that is unlawful, fraudulent, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.
• Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the App or Tastebud's underlying data in any automated manner.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the App.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App, Supabase backend, or any connected systems.
• Use the App to promote or facilitate illegal alcohol sales or distribution.
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's infrastructure, servers, or networks.

Violation of this section may result in immediate account suspension or termination and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement.

4. Whiskey Content & Third-Party Data

Whiskey product data, store pick information, barrel details, tasting notes, and availability information displayed in the App is sourced from the Tastebud API and is provided for informational purposes only. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of this information. Prices, availability, and product details may vary. Always verify information with the retailer before making a purchase.

Retailer and store pick information is subject to change without notice. Singles is not a licensed alcohol retailer and does not facilitate the purchase or delivery of alcohol.

5. Subscription & Billing

5.1 Free Tier

Singles offers a free tier with full core functionality, supported by in-app display advertising.

5.2 Paid Subscription

For $2.00/month, subscribers receive an ad-free experience. Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through the applicable app store (Apple App Store or Google Play). By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges until you cancel.

5.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your app store account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not issue prorated refunds for unused portions of a billing period, except as required by applicable law or app store policy.

5.4 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' advance notice. Continued use of the App after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, graphics, trademarks, and software, is owned by Singles and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

Whiskey product names, distillery names, and brand imagery displayed in the App are the property of their respective owners. Singles does not claim ownership of third-party intellectual property displayed within the App.

7. User-Generated Content

If the App allows you to submit ratings, reviews, or other content (“User Content”), you retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting User Content, you grant Singles a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, modify, and display your User Content in connection with operating and improving the App.

You represent that your User Content does not violate any third-party rights and complies with these Terms. We reserve the right to remove any User Content at our discretion.

8. Account Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or otherwise acted in a way that harms Singles, Tastebud, other users, or third parties. We may also coordinate with Tastebud to investigate suspected malicious behavior (see our Privacy Policy, Section 4).

You may delete your account at any time through the App's settings. Upon account deletion, your data will be handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers

The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

Whiskey product information, tasting notes, store pick details, and availability data are provided for informational purposes only and may not be accurate or up to date. Singles is not responsible for any reliance on such information.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Singles shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) $10.00 or (b) the amount you paid to us in the three months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Singles and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the App; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any third-party rights.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. You agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Hennepin County, Minnesota for the resolution of any dispute arising under these Terms.

Before initiating formal legal proceedings, you agree to contact us at privacy@singlebottles.com and attempt to resolve any dispute informally for at least 30 days.

13. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification or email at least 14 days before taking effect. Your continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the App.

14. Miscellaneous

• Entire Agreement: These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and Singles regarding the App.
• Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force.
• Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
• Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights without restriction.
